Miranda
All I have are memories and photographs
Of you so sweet yet obstinate.
Naked and rebellious
Wiser than your years
My little sister, my friend, my love
If only you hadn’t died
We would be together happy and free
Sharing in our survival and pain
Only I share this with my husband now.
Come and meet my husband and my friends!
What kind of woman would you be today?
You’ve taught me everything I know
About independence and laughter.
Without you I am not complete
I have never forgotten you,
I will always love you.
Here on Earth my life goes on
Until Cystic Fibrosis claims my life, too.
